KU Forestry joins hands with Asian universities for regional forest collaboration!
The Faculty of Forestry, Kasetsart University, led by Asst. Prof. Dr. Wirongrong Duangjai,
Deputy Dean for International Affairs, participated in
The 2nd International Symposium of Forest GX/DX in Asia and
The 10th Symposium of the Asian University Forests Consortium (AUFC)
held at Seoul National University, Korea, from October 27–31, 2025.
The KU Forestry team showcased academic diversity and expertise from various departments:
- Dr. Wongsatorn Phumphuang (Forest Biology) – Oral presentation on habitat differentiation in coastal plant communities
- Dr. Kanokporn Kaewsong (Forest Conservation) – Oral presentation on plant–environment relationships in dry evergreen forests
- Ms. Thidarat Loto (Forest Management, M.Sc. student) – Poster presentation on growth responses of Tectona grandis under air pollution stress
- Ms. Napapan Kasemsot (Forest Conservation, M.Sc. student) – Poster presentation on soil organic matter in various land use types at Trat Agroforestry Station
As the keynote speaker, Dr. Wirongrong Duangjai delivered a speech titled
“Forests Without Borders: Research Collaboration for a Climate-Ready Future,”
highlighting the vital role of Asian universities in advancing forest science, digital innovation, and climate adaptation.
The event strengthened the Asian University Forests Consortium (AUFC) partnership among leading universities in Asia —
including Seoul National University, The University of Tokyo, National Taiwan University, Universiti Malaysia Sabah,
Hainan University, Universitas Gadjah Mada, the University of the Philippines, and Kasetsart University —
toward the vision of “Forests Without Borders.”
