A Nordic–Thai Knowledge Exchange Initiative
The Faculty of Forestry, Kasetsart University, is proud to present the Sustainable Forestry Operations for the Bioeconomy: A Nordic–Thai Knowledge Exchange Initiative, a strategic academic collaboration between Kasetsart University and leading research institutions and universities in the Nordic countries.
On 15 June 2026, Assoc.Prof.Dr.Prateep Duangkhae, Dean of the Faculty of Forestry, presided over the opening ceremony of the “Discover Tropical Forest Operations Summer School” on sustainable forestry technology and bioeconomy management, held from 15–19 June 2026. The programme is coordinated by Assoc.Prof.Dr.Nopparat Kaakkurivaara, lecturer in the Department of Forest Engineering. The Summer School also welcomed guest speakers from universities in the Nordic countries and the Czech Republic, namely Dr.Jussi Manner, Dr.Heikki Korpunen, and Dr.Tomáš Zemánek.
Throughout the five-day programme, Thai and international students at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels participated in expert-led seminars, hands-on field learning in Thailand’s tropical forests, and collaborative research discussions building long-term research networks between Thailand and the Nordic region, while strengthening Kasetsart University’s position as a leading regional hub for forestry cooperation.
